This privacy statement explains how we use any personal information about you that you give us when you visit this website or engage with.  What information do we collect about you?

From time to time, you may be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and email address) in order to receive or use services on our website. Such services include information about events and email updates. We also collect information when you voluntarily complete surveys, sign up for our newsletter and via ‘contact us forms’.

 How will we use the information we collect?

We collect information about you to help us deal with your requests and, if you agree, to email you with news, events and other updates we believe would be of interest to you based on the information you have provided. 

By giving us your details you enable EMEESY to provide you with the services you select. When you subscribe to a newsletter or complete a form you will have the chance to accept / “opt in” to what news you are interested in receiving. You can “opt out” or unsubscribe at any time by contacting us or updating your profile via newsletter or events invites.

E-newsletter

We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. 

Events

We may a third party provider, such as Eventbrite or Ticket Tailor to manage some of our events. We may need to obtain Personal Identifiable Information (PII) to help us to organise our events. For more information see Eventbrite’s privacy policy and Ticket Tailor's privacy policy.

In line with our Public and patient leadership agenda and for our events, we may ask for sensitive personal data such as race, ethnicity or sexuality. This is to ensure that our services are inclusive and fairly represented.

Surveys 

We use a third party provider Survey Monkey to conduct and manage survey responses on our work or events. We may need to obtain Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in order to do this. Any information you provide to EMEESY will only be used by us and our associated projects and programmes. Your details will not be disclosed unless we are obliged or permitted to by law to do so.

If you post or send offensive, inappropriate or objectionable content anywhere on www.emeesykidney.nhs.uk or otherwise engage in any disruptive behaviour on www.emeesykidney.nhs.uk, we may use whatever information is available to us, about you, to stop such behaviour. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met or when you no longer wish to continue your subscription.

Under the Data Protection Act, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. We use leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard your data and keep strict security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it.

We do not pass on your details to any third party or other government departments.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
